Currently I'm undertaking a masters of fine art at the university of newcastle entitled "The Eclectic Bibliotheque". My goal is to create a library of books with my images and/or text using different binding methods and even to push the bounderies of what is viewed as a book by making experimental books. I am also playing around with altered books. My recent exhibition "Bibliomania"(oct-Nov 2003) was a trial run for my masters exhibition - and I'm pleased to say I'm on right on track! So my whole life recently has been designing books, making lots and lots of prints and then binding them. |

I studied Fabric Design at RMIT in the 1960's, but took up a camera as a child. My father taught me to develop/print by the age of 10. I have been an avid photographer ever since. In 1999 I started to use the digital format as it seemed to me to be the way of the future. Unfortunately at the time I could only buy a small 1.3m pixel camera so I cannot use those thousands of photos, but they're my ideas box.Use an Olypus E10 now.
I was anti war at my private school & wore a ban the bomb logo on my non regulation green duffle coat, to school...many lines I had to write! (didn't change my views any)!I marched in many moritoriums in the late 1960's & '70s, and still participate in marches against war and logging and for better treatment for the Koori's.
I will be uploading some work in the near future for the site, think its really good so keep up the good work everyone. Libbie |
