Groovy images and sound a pop star film clip. Loved it Yep moneys a sin but everyone is scrambling for it. Yep Humans what do you do with them, they just don't learn do they. Well don't worry its like the frog in the boiling water he does not jump out until its to late.
. -Michael Florrimell

I like the simplicity and childlike, teaching type approach in this art work to get the message across clearly. This has been achieved here.

Of we go marching into the darkness with our blind folds on. Where we end up know one knows.

Richy, I have a blind friend and I know that his guide dog knows exactly where to go.

Well maybe dogs are a lot smarter than humans.

Michael, it's the 'PURPLE CATS' to watch for, not the 'PINK DOGS'.

The idea of reproduction on a large scale can be scary but maybe it could be good in Australia. Maybe we should give all the refugees in Womara a free ticket in as most of us already here came in as refugees.

Its a national discrace that refuggees are not cared for in the same way every other Australian is. That is straight of the hell boats that get them here. Austrlains should have more compassion.

George, my practical suggestion is for this website team to put a spell-check on all comments. As really we are all writing directly in first draft form. I hate being exposed for my spelling, but on the other hand I love seeing and reading first drafts, as they show our humanity.

Yes something wicked does come this way. Kind of like a scary movie. . -Michael Florrmell Reply
Great use of line, tone and texture. Nothing like personal marks made with a human hand. Free and uninhibited expression. . -Michael Zschech Reply
The scary hand of Yolanda M is winding its way to your house. But not this year, hopefully she will be back with us in 2003. To scare the hell out of you all with her magic etchings. . -Susan West Reply
Susan, I can't wait. I want the "hell" scared right out of me now. What will I do. . -Michael Zschech Reply

A long look at the unsual world of Uncle Gerard.
Full of interesting loops and effects.
Images of the dark side of London town no doubt.

I am looking forward to learning more about the technical skills which are required to create this art work.
. -Michael Zschech
Reply
Stick a video camera on yourself and use some effects then burn a cd. Technology is there to be used and its getting cheaper by the day.
. -Richy Rich
Reply
Richy, thank you. Whom do I contact to learn the skills of "effects" and "burning"? I think this sounds like progressive/innovative/original artist/printmaking "FUN". As for putting the video on myself, I see myself as a grain of sand on Bondi Beach and would prefer to video the rough diamonds in the river beds of gravel.
. -Michael Zschech
Reply
The video camera will become the mirror of the future. Switch of the news as that is only a properganda image of the world. Examine yourself before others.
. -Richy Rich

Richy, you are speaking to me as a personal prophet. I am under obsessional bondage, to watching world news since the 11th Sept. I want to know what's going to happen next. How do I stop this obsession?

Very minimalistic and subtle. Reminds me of Max Miller's early work. Do more.
. -Michael Zschech
Reply
Yep very minimal kind of like the work in America in the 1960s. The trouble with minimalizim is that it looks good on a wall of an art gallery but thats about it. Oh maybe a coffee table book on how great the 1960s were. I say were lest we forget, real fast.
. -Richy Rich
Reply
Were the 1960's great? No ANZAC type memorials for the 1960s. One "lest we forget" is enough per year.

Great CD Paul interactive for a start and unsually personal without being personal if you know what I mean.
Great Story line.
. -Michael Florrimell

it was great to see an interactive piece which wasn't in-your-face-i found the device worked to make me move s-l-o-w-l-y through the piece and see diffrent viewpoints-but also with ambigious vision and performances.
. -gerard morrissey
Reply
Yay someone looked at it. And took some time and thought something. Thank you Gerard. I was trying to give a sense of the way trauma seems to ripple through generations and greatly influenced by the book 'Fugitive Peices' by Anne Michaels
. -Paul Somerset

Your title says it all. Fathers have a lot to be accountable for!
. -Michael Zschech
Reply
Yes that is from the bible. Which really does say a lot.
I wonder if much of the emotional detachment that men are accused of has been passed on as a result of war trauma.
. -Paul Somerset
Reply

Paul, I would like to have a look at this CD. How do I go about this? As for the Bible, yes it does say a lot - about war. Trauma is a horrible thing to experience from any context. There are statistical graphs in existence showing the gender statistics of the people whom participated.

Many people seem to think the piece is autiobiographical. It is not, it is totally fiction. The only truth in it is many of my families houses were bulldozed.
. -Paul Somerset

 Paul, explain more.
. -Michael Zschech

In 1974 Turkey occupied the northern part of Cyprus, just one of many conflicts that happen all the time all over the world I suppose. The town that my grandparents had migrated from 18 years earlier was in the border area and was bulldozed by the Turkish army. Family that were still there became refugees, some migrated here. Like all conflicts the reasons are complex and international support pragmatic. You might see a 15 seconds on the news but the affect on the lives of the people involved is massive.
. -Paul Somerset
Reply
Paul , thankyou for explaining it more factually to me. I went to the NSW YART Gallery to view your work but all the 'blue eyes' I spoke to could not assist me. So I will try again by phoning up prior to walking in. So much for easy public access and participation. Will get back to you.
