Hello and welcome to the Travelling Solander 2009, 2010. We had a fantastic response to the project from participating artists. 

 

Important: Please inform Michael Florrimell ASAP if you have decided not to take part in this project email mflorrimell@hotmail.com There were a lot of artists who missed out and would like a place.

 

We have received official conformation on the launch of the 35 works at the London Print Studio in September 2010. All works will be housed in protective acetate folders for handling and viewing until the official launch. The works will then be transferred to a glass solander for exhibition.

 

Note: Artists are asked to supply an emailed proof and short artist statement if possible by the 1st August 2009. Artists are asked to send their 56 x 76 cm print to Michael by the 1st September 2009. This will help Michael produce a smooth transfer of images and information to a catalogue to be sent in October 2009 to several curators. News: The National Gallery of Australia’s print room curator Roger Butler accepted the 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 EPPM portfolios as donations to the NGA’s print room collection just before the end of 2008. The NGA also hold works from the 1991, 1993 and 1995 EPPM portfolios. Michael will send Roger a catalogue as reference to the Solander project in October 2009. The London Print Studios now holds 10 portfolios from 1993.- 2007 and The Print Council of Australia now holds portfolios from 1993 –2007.

 

Artists should have a look at a site called INKTERACTION www.inkteraction.ning.com 

This is a world wide site for print media artists to interact and meet with other artist involved in print media from around the globe. Note, Solander artists on inktertion are worth checking out. LONDON PRINT STUDIO www.londonprintstudio.org.uk has information on shows and courses in print media. I highly recommend a visit to the LPS if in London.
