Jodi's works are nothing short of brillant. She has been contributing to EPNPM for a long time and her practice never fails to leave me breathless. This work is one of those pieces that on first sighting you know is special. The combination of printed lithogaphy "the ducks" and the material of window curtain gorze with which the ducks are stuck to, is nothing short of orginal conception. The ideas or memory's this work brings to mind is the country or suburban kitchen. thought only - "I looking out through the haze of the white curtain, I watched as the ducks flew north on migration". The ducks of coarse are what's know in the Australia as the three ceramic ducks that hang on the walls of every good 1950's country and suburban house. A kind of kitch, but well loved icons. The memory is the important word or image brought to mind. The memory of the wild and it's copy and where those images are in our minds in the future and past. JH, love this work. I have hung it above a very low door frame in my home to remind me to 'duck' when going out - so I don't hit my head. The people whom originally built it were very, very short. Looking forward to seeing more of your prints. . -Z Reply

Drive from or to Aderlaide from Melbourne and you will understand the nature of the subject of this work. Huge salt pans mile after mile of scorched earth, where nothing grows. Basically what happens when you remove the top layers of soil year in year out. Excellent work as usual. . -Michael Florrimell Reply

Yes one of my fav's for 2004 Anne Maree again pulls out all stops with lithography, embossing, block printing, hand printing and hand stamping all in the same print. Not to mention the work is double sided. The Grass is Greener ( on the other side ) which is printed on the other side of coarse. Terific orginal and witty work always amazed with this artists work. AMH, following on from the chat in the gallery re: this image. How has your PhD been going? This print 'jumped' out at me when I first saw it. You make the viewer consider possible suggestions, maybe even provoking them into thinking; how many times has each considered looking at greener grass to move to. Then when you get there it's not as green as was initially thought. I don't think there is any harm in looking though. Nothing like a good personal hope/imaginary session mixed with a lot of faith. I'm looking at moving to greener grass now, wish I could jump on and ride off to it now but I've discovered what patience really means. Any articles from your PhD suitable for PNP? . -Z Reply

SM, I find your work easy to look at. The colours and tones work well together as does the diverse use of line and texture. It can be viewed as a 2D pattern or as a 3D abstract image. This is great 'mood' art which allows the viewer to project their own meanings into it. Viewers should check out SM's website. The idea of natural water and chemical additives. One wonders but "hey we drink bottled water or filtered water in Sydney don't we". I remember drinking water from a tap or a hose when I was a kid in Melbourne that's about 40 years ago. Maybe I was not aware of the chemicals added through one sorce or another. But I remember it did not taste like cloride. I also seem to remember the Yarra river and the water at St Kilda beach was a lot clearer. If one takes a road trip along the Hyme Highway from Melbourne to Sydney these are some of the images you will see along the way. Elisabeth takes the endless miles of Australian country side with 40 frames of photographs choosen from hundreds to jog the memory of such a road trip. Each frame becomes a piece of the 900 kilometres. Elisabeth expores what many would simply take for granted on such a trip. Finding details is what brings together the big picture. ER, I enjoyed looking at these images as I have never been to that part of Australia. In a some of my images I use the grid-pattern system of design also. At the moment I've been experimenting and joining up several photo/images together to make one - trying to get a 360 deg onto a 2D plane is challenging.
