Hey Rona, some dogs are like that - always watching and just waiting for a word of direction. What is the actual size of this lino-print?
. -Michael Zschech - 15/07/2006

Hey Michael... ain't that the truth.
print size is 69 x 54 cm - linocut hand coloured with watercolour.

Rona I love your work. It always reminds me of people I meet in clubs. Im going to do a dj coarse soon and I bet a few of the young dudes will be as swanky as this dude in your lino cut. Have you read the latest imprint, Jasmina gives you a little rap, although I don't agree with her descriptions on your work its still a good articale as one unit. My god is this the sort of thing people will expect of me if I do a PHD. I got to admit I like chatting about artists work, don't know if I could say anything to much more than its all great.

No really, I like chatting on as long as its on the eppm site would not do it anywhere else. Although im going to start up my own site in 2007 with the help of Paul. I will def have chats on line about all my work and projects. I really think the Australian Print Workshop, the Print Council of Australia and print rooms and workshops around Australia need to open chat lines for artists and public to debate and comment on prints etc. What do you think.
PS re read the articale its really good, I like the fact someone has let the imagination go on all these artists work and has'nt written another theory about printmaking technology and if its right to do digital printmaking or not hahahaha. Keep up the great prints Rona.

Hey Michael - i organise little, snobby 'by invitation only' exchange folio projects! 'By the light of the moon' is well underway with the participating artists work due in January and an exhibition of the prints taking place at Impressions on Paper gallery in Canberra in March 2007. i'll put you on my list of interested peeps!

This is one cool critter, reminds me of some of the music lovers at Home Baked - Australian and New Zealand pop concert, which I went to on Saturday had a great time. Lots of people getting tatts these days which is good to see I have'nt any myself but I just love looking at other peoples tatts some really special stuff out their. Its like your own personal body art using yourself as a canvas. As usual this is a fantastic piece of work.

Wow Id like a copy of this print. Supurb work Rona. The casting eye of the Sine Supremus. Or in printmaking terms the collectors curator hahaha. Mmmm yes I can hear Sine say yes this has someting buttt maybe it should have something else. Just a little bit to the right ohhh no I mean to the left. Yes many a battle we do for you all at EPNPM when dealing with curators. And this is just what most of them look like. Supurb work.

Another great image Rona. The idea of the rabbits sharing information in the globel village we call Australia and the world. Love the tattoo on the rabbits arm, wa that mighty mouse the symbol I mean. I can just hear them now that bloody John H he's threating our lives yet again. Or is it more cheek out the bunny ears on that one Ronny. Mmm what ever great print.

Rona as I have said many a time what great work you do. I love this image it say's so much by the simple turning up of the wondering eye. Yes its truly sad that the Australian goverment has been filling our heads via their big brother media net work in which they own with untrue reports of the doom day terrists. Glad you can see the funny side of the coin.

Just sold my Russian/Chech, red, fox-fur and black, polished, leather-trim hat (snow flakes eat your hearts out). A wonderful person now wears it. I also gave away a hand-crafted, Australian, Aboriginal 'Rain-Bow Serpant' snake sculpture. The female, artist told me that it was also a symbolic 'boom-a-rang'. I hear the sound of the 'rang' - I see the serpant returning. I can catch.

Rona, I didn't know that ladies exist in 2006. I'm super careful about those referred to as "a lady" especially if they are pure white. Best to ignore and avoid. Are they white or black pearls hanging around her neck?
. -Michael Zschech - 9/8/2006

hey again Michael - no pearls round this lady's neck! haven't depicted a female in my work for a while... this portrait is a homage to a friends cat - and yes, she was definitely a lady, of the finest kind.

Hi Rona great work again, no stopping you and con grates on the silkcut award. I went to see your show in Fitzroy the other day vwery cool, liked the portfolio works as well. It's great to see a artist like your self putting in so much work and effort into other peoples art. Not many people like yourself around who put in the extra mile. Just finishing my refugee portfolio print and will get onto your portfolio print, when I get back from Sydney in late sept. Until then keep on rocking the printmaking world Rona my friend.

Go-Go Rona, congratulations. Why is it called Silkcut? Yes, Michael, some wonder why nothing ever happens for them, maybe they haven't discovered the concepts yet that "what you sow you reap" and "put others before yourself". Hard concepts for some in a '2006 self-empowered, self-centered and selfish capo-matero Oz culture'.

Hi Rona I love your very black and white look and quirky images. How do you print with so much white and keep the white clean? Regards Laura Osborne
. -Laura Osborne - 5/15/2008

 hi Laura
after i roll up the lino block i check if ink has hit any of the cut areas (white bits) and if so i mask these areas with cartridge paper before taking a print from the block.

Yes great work as usual Rona. The images are very graphic in theory as code or symbolic representations of creatures with human conditions or motifs. I think the title is very important in your work also Rona as Jenny Watson was saying yesterday even an abstract text can give the veiwer further meaning to the work. Do you or will you use text in future work? I could see even a flux of letters or one big letter as a printers devise being used. Maybe in a colour such as red. Still keep up the grand work look forward to seeing more on the site and in the 2008=2009 EPPM projects.
