JP, when I first saw this image it scared the s**t out of me. This image has reoccurred in my mind many times during my years. Should you feel comfortable with describing it's essence I would grately appreciate this. No pressure. . -Z Reply
Yes I saw many a leg of ham on my travel in Spain. In most bars you will see and can taste the hams they have hanging dripping fat into a bowl etc. Not really my kind of food, but the Spainish love them. Still the bars are great, cafe solo in the morning, tapas, crusty bread. In particular the bars out in the country side are fab. Going back in September, can't wait. . -Michael Florrimell Reply
I don't see what scares you so much about the leg ham...by thw way it is actually supposed to be a tear drop... not a hunkahunkaburnin pig! . - - 20/05/2006 Reply
why did it scare you? it is meant to be a tear drop. please explain your anxiety... . -jan palethorpe - 20/05/2006 Reply
Jan, well I've thought about it (for a few years) since you've asked. I like the tear drop concept, a good and peaceful way of looking at it. Thanks. . -Michael Zschech - 9/14/2008 Reply

Why thanks Michael - didn't realize you were still here - keeping alow profile huh?- what a great thing you are doing for printmaking in australia keep up the good work.
would you be interested in doing some project with boys in prison. I am teaching at Malmsbury juvenile justice centre - and we have just recently bought a small etching press - looking for a good project to sink our teeth into. any ideas maybe an exchange with some sydney prisoners?

Well try the Firestation workshop they have a director who worked with prison guys. I know nothing about the subject. I work in a car park in Bondi, which is like baby sitting and feeding yuppies who get lost and cry then don't give you tips. Otherwise I just go surfing and do what art work I can. Good to see you back in the portfolios in 2005. Are you still working in blue etching inks and do you still use the glitter dust like the 1998 print you did for the Firestation portfolio.

gee the gliter dust - no I haven't used it on prints since then but I must confess do put it on my face!!
thanks for the advice re: prison your job sounds light and easy!!! but I think I would lose my cool with yuppies and be temptied to drive their cars over the embankment.
look forward to the 2005 portfoli cheers Jan

Cool maybe we could dress you in our uniform and you could valet a couple of expensive yuppie cars into a few concrete poles around the car park. Well I have to get OS, and sell my art work is not going to get me there hahaa. Almost seems like every artist in Sydney works for Westfields or Fox Studios, or a cafe somewhere. But hey im not complaining. Still looking for a gig as a drummer though, maybe ill move back to Melbourne in 2006 so I can join a band. Was down in August so much happening music and art wise I nearly fell of my bar stole in amazement. Wow good old Melbourne.
